The Episcopal Dioceses of Renk, Chicago and Virginia

Sudan, January 2010

Archbishop of The Episcopal Church of Sudan, The Most Rev. Canon Dr. Daniel Deng Bul, and the Bishop of Renk Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Garang Atem, issue an invitation for all of us to come and see so that we, as people of God, know how to respond. The people of the Diocese of Chicago and the people of the Diocese of Virginia responded to the invitation.

Churches and individuals in both dioceses have given generously and become partners in faith with our brothers and sisters in Christ in the Diocese of Renk, the Episcopal Church of Sudan.

In January of 2010, a group of pilgrims, the Renk Media Team, traveled from the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago to the Diocese of Renk to capture and tell the story of what faith can do to transform lives on opposite sides of God's world. The official purpose of the trip was to make a documentary, recording images and voices of the people of the Diocese of Renk.
